Auto repossession company lays off 148 workers

Auto repossession services company lays off 148

Nashville-based Primeritus Financial Services Inc. has laid off 148 employees.

Located near Nashville International Airport at 435 Metroplex Drive, the company offers services related to auto repossession, skip tracing and remarketing. According to a Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development document, the Primeritus employees were not represented by a collective bargaining agreement. The layoffs are termed “temporary” in the document.

The Post was unable to determine the number of employees remaining in the office.

Primeritus was founded in January 2012 and has an office in El Dorado Hills, California, according to its website.

 

Nationwide Studios undergoes second round of cuts

The Hendersonville office of youth portrait photography chain Nationwide Studios Inc. has laid off 209 people. This is the second round of cuts for the company, with the first involving 56 workers (read here).

The business, which operates as Teddy Bear Portraits, is located at 152 Molly Walton Drive. According to a Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development document, the employees in the second round of layoffs were not represented by a collective bargaining agreement. The layoffs also are termed “temporary” in the document.

The Post has been unable to determine the number of employees remaining in the local office.

Now more than 55 years old, Nationwide Studios primarily provides preschool and childcare photography to both public and privately owned childcare centers across the country. It laid off 69 of its then-126 workers in 2015, The Tennessean reported at the time.
