A five-story boutique hotel is being planned for a Main Street site located near Edley’s Bar-B-Que in East Nashville.
Nashville-based Oldacre McDonald owns the 0.2-acre site, having paid $975,000 for it in April, according to Metro records. The address is 916 Main St.
Documents submitted to Metro show the hotel property would offer 12 four-bedroom units and 12 one-bedroom units. In addition, retail space and a 20-space parking area under the building, a name for which has not been announced, would be included.
Holleman Transmission previously operated from the site. Nearby are speakeasy Attaboy, live music venue The Basement East, Smith & Lentz Brewing Co., women’s boutique clothing retailer Molly Green and the aforementioned Edley’s.
Mark McDonald, a partner with Oldacre McDonald, teams with business partner Mark McGinley to oversee M Cubed Developments. Nashville Business Journal reports that entity will handle the project. It has enlisted Powell Architecture + Building Studio to handle design services, according to the documents submitted to Metro.
The team will go before the Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee Tuesday, June 4, to seek concept approval. The property sits within the agency’s East Bank Redevelopment District and, as such, committee approval is needed.
Main Street will soon see the opening of two hotels: Fieldhouse Jones and Bridal Suites.
