The state Department of Revenue announced Friday that it had collected $37.7 million more than budgeted estimates during the tenth month of the state’s fiscal year. On a year-to-date basis, the state is now $277.2 million ahead of projections.
Compared to May 2003, collections this May were $34 million, or nearly 5% higher.
Year-to-date collections are $494 million higher than that collected during the first ten months of the previous fiscal year, a 7.1% increase.
