07-17-2006 11:35 AM — More Opryland rooms being rehabbed D.F. Chase Inc. is rehabbing 1,730 rooms at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Cascades North and on Delta's A and B floors. The work is part of a four-year, $45 million renovation plan at the hotel announced last year. The latest permit is valued at $17 million.
Costco construction underway Charles & Vinzant Construction Co. LLC is constructing the new Costco Wholesale store, which is part of developer Newton Oldacre McDonald's 700,000-square-foot Nashville West shopping center development at 6670 Charlotte Ave. The permit is valued at $8.8 million.
Hill Center buildings to rise Hoar Construction LLC pulled permits to construct two shell buildings for the future Hill Center at 4015 Hillsboro Pike. Whole Foods Market is anchoring the retail portion of the site once occupied by a center anchored by an H.G. Hill grocery store. Plans call for 162,000 square feet of retail and 120,000 square feet of office. The latest permit is valued at $5.8 million.
Parking for 5th & Main Solomon Builders Inc. is constructing an 88,000-square-foot three-level parking garage for 5th & Main, a mixed-use development in East Nashville at 501 Main St. The permit is valued at $5.1 million.
Nolensville storage coming S & S Building Group Inc. is constructing two buildings for Mallory Station Storage at 6346 Nolensville Pike, one measuring 21,100 square feet and the other measuring 61,1000 square feet. The total value of the permits is $5 million.
HCA begins build out of Metroplex space Harvest Construction Co. LLC is building out a two-story, single-tenant building at 490 Metroplex Drive for HCA. The permit is valued at $3.3 million. The building once housed a First American processing center and was closed after AmSouth Bank bought the local bank. HCA bought the building in January for $3.3 million.
Northern Tool builds Nashville store The Parkes Co. Inc. is constructing a 24,000-square-foot building at 1000 Gallatin Pike for Northern Tool & Equipment, a Burnsville, Minn.-based retailer of light industrial and construction tools. It will be the company's fourth store in Tennessee and first in Nashville. The permit is valued at $1.9 million.
Comcast starts on Two Rivers space Shaub Construction Co. Inc. renovating a 45,666-square-foot portion of Two Rivers Corporate Center at 2501 McGavock Pike for Comcast's call center. Comcast signed the lease in June. The permit is valued at $1.8 million. It was one of two permits for new tenants in the former outlet shopping center. Nehemiah Builders LLC pulled a permit valued at $106,000 to build out space for C & H Mortgage Group, which is occupy 2,510 square feet.
More Nissan floors in BellSouth Tower T.W. Frierson Contractor Inc. recently began renovating two more floors in the BellSouth for Nissan North America's temporary downtown headquarters. This time, the work is on the third and fourth floor, bring the total floors to 12 that Nissan will occupy until its Cool Springs headquarters building is complete in 2008. The latest permits total $240,000.
