A section of the basement of Saint Thomas Hospital is being renovated to house new cancer care equipment. The project is worth more than $2.4 million and is being handled by Turner Universal Construction.

Devon Industrial Group will renovate part of the former Ford Glass plant on Centennial Boulevard. The company has in hand a $1.5 million permit that covers work on 250,000 square feet of the facility. Owner Zeledyne said in January it had a deal to sell the plant to a Japanese company.

Harvest Construction is preparing to renovate the fourth floor of HCA's Southern Hills Medical Center. The contractor has a been granted a permit worth about $530,000.

Another week, another Mall at Green Hills permit. Houston-based women's accessories retailer Charming Charlie will open a store in the upscale shopping center after DLP Construction finishes about $430,000 worth of work on the first floor.

Medical training provider MedVance Institute is expanding its campus at 3354 Permiter Hill Drive near Harding and Interstate 24. Tenant Building Group has a $400,000 permit to renovate the third floor of the building.

The Priest Lake Veterinary Hospital is moving a half mile south from its Antioch home on Murfreesboro Road. Conseco Group has a $600,000 permit to build a 5,648-square-foot facility on Morris Gentry Blvd.

The phone research arm of Market Strategies International is growing its Nashville office on Royal Parkway. Tenant Building Group has pulled a $300,000 permit to renovate a suite at 828 Royal Parkway. The local office is one of five phone-research locations for Michigan-based Market Strategies.

Don Kennedy Roofing has pulled two permits for work on the Tennessee State University campus. The company will reroof Humphreys Hall and rehab the ceiling of the LRC Building. Combined, the jobs re worth almost $280,000.
