BMI promotes Smith
Broadcast Music Inc. has promoted Jeremy Smith to senior director of financial and operational analysis and licensing. In his new role, Smith will oversee the forecasting and budget process of BMI’s licensing department. Smith was promoted to director of research and analysis and licensing in July of 2005 after joining BMI in 1994 as a title researcher in the operations department and moving up the ranks. He holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University.
OHL hires audit VP
Global logistics company OHL has added Danny Sawyer to its logistics team as vice president of internal audit. In this new role at OHL, he will establish formal programs, policies and processes for the internal audit function.
Sawyer is a CPA who most recently served as global vice president of internal audit at Sitel Corp., where he also started that company’s internal audit function spanning five continents. He also previously held senior level auditing roles at Willis North America and Cigna Healthcare. Sawyer has a bachelor’s in accounting from Western Kentucky University.
Genesco names Vaughn senior vice president
Mimi Vaughn has been named senior vice president of strategy and shared services at Genesco Inc. She most recently served as Genesco’s senior vice president of strategy and business development.
In her new role, Vaughn adds oversight of the company’s shared services, which include human resources, information systems and corporate logistics, to her existing responsibility for corporate strategy and business development.
Prior to joining Genesco, Vaughn was executive vice president of business development and marketing and acting chief financial officer of Link2Gov Corp. in Nashville. She received a bachelor’s degree in foreign service and international economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Triple 7 Public Relations adds two
Triple 7 Public Relations announced the expansion of the company with the additions of Nicole Pope as director of publicity and Tanya Taylor as an account executive.
Pope most recently came from Edelman Public Relations, where she managed lifestyle and entertainment PR for such clients as Nissan North America and Mars Inc. A graduate of Auburn University, Pope began her career at E! Networks as a segment and associate producer. In 2005, Country Music Television brought Pope to Nashville to be PR manager.
A graduate of Belmont University, Taylor most recently worked on brand development at Kaleidoscope Media and with Prima PR, where she spearheaded tour press for various recording artists.
Gullett Sanford names marketing director
The law firm of Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin has named Janet Summey as its first director of marketing & business development. Before joining the firm, Summey served as business development and practice support manager at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings and as marketing manager of Arthur Andersen’s Nashville office. Summey earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of Memphis in 1993.
