Garrett reappointed to Human Rights Commission

Gov. Phil Bredesen has appointed Stacey Garrett, founding member of the Bone McAllester Norton PLLC law firm, to a second term on the Tennessee Human Rights Commission. She was first appointed by Bredesen to the agency's governing board in 2003 and will now continue to serve until 2015.

Garrett is chair of the board of directors of Bone McAllester and focuses her practice on higher education, corporate transactions, immigration, health care and government affairs.

Avondale adds industrials analyst

Investment bank Avondale Partners has hired Ted Grace as a senior industrials research analyst focused on the building materials and related construction sectors. Prior to joining the firm, he was a research analyst at Goldman Sachs, a vice president in the energy and power investment banking group at Bank of America Securities and a research associate at PaineWebber. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Bucknell University.

Information security veteran joins MainNerve

MainNerve Inc., an information security company, has named Mark Burnette president of its central region. Burnette brings more than 13 years of security leadership experience to MainNerve. He has extensive experience in security program strategy and development, regulatory compliance, risk assessment and management, and other IT areas.

Before joining MainNerve, Burnette built and led information security functions for two major corporations and worked for several years in key leadership roles with two of the Big Four accounting firms. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Carson-Newman College and a master of accountancy from the University of Tennessee.

Frank to lead BorderJump

Nashville-based BorderJump LLC announced that founder Bobby Frank has committed to the company as president and chief executive officer on a full-time basis. Frank, who founded the business last year, had been splitting his time between advertising agency Frank/Best International, which he co-founded in 1997, and BorderJump.

Fennig joins Human Capital

Diane Fennig has joined The Human Capital Group Inc. as a senior consultant and will lead the firm’s newly established Atlanta office. She has more than 20 years of career development and management experience, working in association with universities and higher education systems in three states.

Prior to joining The Human Capital Group, she was director of graduate student services at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. She holds a doctor of philosophy degree in educational leadership from the University of South Carolina.

Aegis promotes Coble to lab manager

Sarah Coble has been promoted to laboratory manager at Aegis Sciences Corp., a forensic sciences laboratory based in Nashville. She previously served as the company’s quality assurance program manager.

As laboratory manager, Coble will direct all technical and laboratory quality control procedures, budget laboratory costs, and assist in special projects. Prior to joining Aegis in 2006, she served as a quality lab associate for Baxter Healthcare in Marion, N.C. and an undergraduate research assistant for a laboratory at North Carolina State University. She received her bachelor’s degree from NCSU.

O’More names Koellein chair

David Koellein, an urban designer and planner who most recently worked with Nashville-based Giarratana Development Inc., has been named chair of the interior design department at O’More College of Design in Franklin.

Koellein has been an instructor at the college since 2007 while he worked professionally as a design associate with Giarratana. Previously, he was a development program manager with the Metropolitan Development and Housing Authority. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and urban studies from Lipscomb University and a master’s degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
