Hospice CEO Jim Deal has been named to the board of directors of MedCath, a publicly traded hospital operator.
According to the announcement, the North Carolina-based company focuses on “high acuity services with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease being a primary service offering.” It posted a profit of $7.8 million on revenues of $312 million in the first half of its 2009 fiscal year. The net income number was down about 10 percent from a year earlier.
Since 2006, Deal has served as the CEO of Hospice Compassus — formerly known as Cloverleaf Partners — which he founded and has grown into one of the largest hospice chains in the nation.
