Centerstone launches prevention division

Behavioral health care provider Centerstone has announced the implementation of Project REAL, a program designed to prevent or reduce the onset of substance abuse and transmission of HIV/AIDS among adolescents. Doris Vaughan has been named director of prevention services and will oversee all prevention programs for Centerstone, including Project REAL.

Vaughan earned her bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation from the University of Florida and her master’s of education degree from Georgia State University. She has been a Centerstone employee for 22 years.

Dr. Charles Brown has been named program evaluator for Project REAL. He earned his bachelor’s degree in health education from Tennessee State University and his master’s of education degree from Belmont University. He also completed his Ph.D. in human performance with a concentration in health education and disease prevention from Middle Tennessee State University.

Camille Lashlee is program manager for prevention services. Lashlee earned her bachelor’s in psychology from Murray State University and her master’s of arts in human services administration from Vermont College, Norwich University. She has been a Centerstone employee for 16 years.

Program coordinator for Project REAL is Amy Cannon. Cannon received her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Martin and her MBA from Union University. She has been a Centerstone employee for nearly five years.

Emily Glenn has been named community outreach specialist for Project REAL. She earned her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and her master’s in professional counseling from Argosy University in Nashville. She has been a Centerstone employee for three years.

As a prevention specialist, Stacey Richards works directly with adolescents enrolled in Project REAL, facilitating educational group sessions and providing rapid HIV testing and community outreach. Richards earned her bachelor’s in social work from MTSU. Richards has been a Centerstone employee for 16 years.

Michael LaBo has joined Centerstone as a prevention specialist for Project REAL. He previously worked for the Domestic Violence Intervention Center as a TeenPEACE court program coordinator. LaBo earned his bachelor’s in recording industry management from MTSU.

Baird, Swann join Fifth Third

Ann Baird has joined Fifth Third Bank as treasury management officer. Previously, she was with Regions Bank, where she served as treasury management sales officer for five years. She has 10 years of experience in banking and treasury management. 

Fifth Third also has hired Scott Swann as wealth management advisor in its investment advisors division. Swann has 13 years of experience in the securities industry. Previously, he worked at Morgan Keegan & Co./AmSouth Investment Services as assistant vice president and financial consultant.

Riley named president of First Horizon Insurance

Kim Riley has been named president of First Horizon Insurance, a subsidiary of First Horizon National Corp. Riley has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance business and joined First Horizon Insurance in 2004 as senior vice president and manager of consumer insurance services. Most recently, he was chief operating officer of the venture.

Prior to joining First Horizon, Riley was a senior executive at CNA Insurance Co. in Nashville responsible for development and implementation of strategies to grow new business and improve the underwriting divisions. He holds a bachelor’s in management and human relations from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Gullett attorney elected to TAJ post

Nashville attorney Matt Hardin has been elected to the board of governors of the Tennessee Association for Justice for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Hardin is an attorney at Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin, specializing in personal injury litigation and medical malpractice. He received his bachelor’s from Rhodes College and his master’s and doctorate from the University of Tennessee.

Pinnacle adds to IT, Ashland City teams

Veteran IT industry professional Marvin Suggs has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners.

Suggs brings more than 20 years of experience to his role of network and hardware support analyst. He comes most recently from Alive Hospice, where he served as IT director. Previous roles were with Covad/Bluestar Communications as a support technician and AmSouth/First American Bank, where he served as manager of its technical services team.

Pinnacle also has hired financial services professional Judy Cagle. Based at the bank’s Ashland City office as a service specialist, Cagle brings more than 20 years of experience from US Bank. She most recently served as a teller coordinator supervisor.

La Scola joins MP&F

McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations has announced the addition of Kristen La Scola as an administrative assistant.

Prior to joining the public relations firm, La Scola worked in the financial sales industry for 15 years, most recently serving as director of recruiting at MetLife. She graduated in 1992 from Lipscomb University with a degree in public relations and a minor in marketing.

TPAC promotes seven, hires eight

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center has promoted the following: Christi Dortch to vice president of programming; Christy Warren to vice president of ticketing and customer service; Jeff Hall to senior director of facility operations; Darrell Merryman to director of IT; Amanda Virgillito Saad to director of public relations; Jane Linton to senior manager of technical operations; and Jim Schlichting to maintenance manager.

In addition, the following people have been hired: Traci Bishir as Broadway marketing manager; Dara Carson as marketing and sponsorships manager; Benjamin Larvie as event sales and services manager; Mary Blair as assistant house manager; Elijah Dies as concessions coordinator; Angelica Cooks as ticket services agent; Brian Laczko as ticket services agent; and Mandy Morgan as marketing assistant.

Retail director for Verizon

Verizon Wireless has hired Stacy Tislow as director of retail sales for the Carolinas/Tennessee Region. Tislow has been with Verizon Wireless and its legacy companies more than 15 years and was most recently district manager responsible for supporting and managing 19 retail outlets in West Tennessee. He graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in business administration.
