An area electric firm has completed a series of real estate transactions that have landed the company into a new location. A&S Electric Inc. recently sold their building at 1200 Fourth Ave. N. to Tennessee Titans offensive tackle and Germantown landowner Michael Roos, who has plans for a mixed-use development.
Following that sale, A&S turned around to purchase a new site at 80 Cleveland St., across the Cumberland River, for $1.45 million.
A&S' original Fourth Avenue location was a 20,840-square-foot industrial structure built in 1960 and equipped with five drive-in bays. Roos and his wife Kat, owners of area cafe DrinkHaus, have plans to redevelopm the structure and the surrounding 1.38 acres into a mix of residential and retail property. The couple could not be reached for a timeline or further plans on the project.
The firm bought its new Cleveland Street building from Covington Detroit Diesel. The warehouse is 33,900 square feet, was built in 1987 and has eight drive-in bays.
Called for comment, representatives of A&S confirmed that Monday was the company's first day in the new Cleveland Street location.
A&S was represented by Chad Grout of Chas. Hawkins Co. Inc. in both sales. Ira Blonder and Steve Outlaw of The Blonder Group were the Roos' representative in the Germantown sale, and Hi Lewis and Bill Hawkins of Chas. Hawkins represented Covington Detroit Diesel in the Cleveland Street sale.
