UPDATE 5:09 p.m.: The Wall Street Journal quotes a GM spokesman as saying an official announcement is set for the morning.
As originally reported:
The Associated Press is reporting this afternoon that General Motors has chosen Orion Township as the site for its next-generation small car. A company spokeswoman had no comment on the report, which relied on an anonymous source with knowledge of the plans.
GM's Spring Hill plant had been in the running for the plant along with a facility in Janesville, Wis. Orion Township earlier this month said it had lined up tens of millions of dollars worth of incentives for GM.
