Brentwood health care venture gets $25M loan

GE Capital funds hospice provider deal

04-03-2009 9:20 AM

Regency Healthcare Group has secured a $25 million senior secured loan funded by a unit of GE Capital. The Brentwood-based hospice provider will use the cash to refinance its existing debt and fund its growth.

Regency runs 17 facilities in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri. It recently acquired three of those centers, one of which is in Donelson, from Trinity Hospice.

The company is owned private-equity firm EDG Partners, which acquired it in early 2006 and later moved its headquarters to Middle Tennessee from the Atlanta area. The firm is led by John Morris, who previously ran Housecall Medical Resources, an EDG-sponsored firm that was sold to Amedisys in 2005 for $106 million.
