Tennessee Commerce Bank has announced it's beefing up its executive ranks, promoting three vice presidents to new positions in the company.
Charles Rogers, formerly the vice president of commercial lending, has taken on the title of senior vice president. Rogers, a bank employee since 2005, will oversee all indirect lending activity. He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee.
Similarly, Thomas Crocker has been elevated from vice president of special assets to senior vice president of special assets. A graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he has been with the Franklin-based bank since 2007.
Timothy Mortimer, previously a special assets manager, has been promoted to assistant vice president with an emphasis in special assets. He has a degree from Shorter College and has been with the bank since last year.
The promotions reflect a growing emphasis in the banking world on distressed assets as institutions position themselves to sell off troubled properties and loans. In its fourth-quarter results published last month, Tennessee Commerce said its non-performing loans had jumped from about $16 million to more than $36 million during the quarter.
