National Health Investors has named Justin Hutchens president and chief operating officer.
Hutchens, 34, will join Murfreesboro-based NHI next month from Emeritus Senior Living, where he was executive vice president and COO. Previously, he spent six years at Sumerville Senior Living, which was acquired by Emeritus (Ticker: ESC) in September 2007.
NHI CEO Andrew Adams said Hutchens' hire "brings additional depth to [the company's] focus at a very unique time in the health care industry." Adams will give up the president title when Hutchens joins the company.
Shares of NHI (Ticker: NHI) closed down 3.7 percent Tuesday at $25.05. They are down about 19 percent in the past six months.
