Belmont University has tapped Jeffrey Kinsler to be the founding dean for its new college of law.

Kinsler is currently a professor of law and senior scholar at Elon University's School of Law in North Carolina. Before going to Elon, he was dean of the Appalachian School of Law.

Kinsler, who will start his new job early next year, was a consultant in the planning process for the new college, which will open in the fall of 2012 in a new $25 million building.

"Jeff Kinsler is a perfect fit for Belmont. He is highly respected in the legal community and has previously provided leadership as dean in the creation of another law school," Belmont President Bob Fisher. "Most importantly, he understands our dreams and aspirations for creating a College of Law that is driven by the mission and core values of Belmont University."

If any school can pull off an amazingly innovative curriculum and perhaps a two year meeting accrediation requirements- that would be Belmont. Otherwise, why?
