The North Highland Company has added Karla Schnell to its Nashville health care consulting team.

Schnell, who previously held a consulting role with Navigant Consulting, has 25 years of experience incorporating technology into clinical settings. She recently helped design the operational aspects of the clinical facility for a “Hospital of the Future” in California.

At North Highland, Schnell will focus on clinical consulting for hospitals and health care providers.

“I chose North Highland because the company gives me the opportunity to travel all over the country, advising health care providers on meeting new standards and best serving their patients,” Schnell said in a statement.

Schnell received her bachelor of nursing degree from the University of Manitoba and her nursing diploma from the Georgian College of Applied Arts & Technology in Orillia, Ont. Prior to joining Navigant, Schnell was the chief nursing officer for First Consulting Group. She’s also worked for Cerner Corporation and as a nurse in several Canadian hospitals.
