Art Laffer, the noted supply-side economist who settled in Nashville a few years ago, has been elected to the board of BridgeHealth Medical, a Denver-based medical travel company.
BridgeHealth officials say Laffer will help shape their expansion plans and "accelerate market uptake." The company promises employers and consumers savings of more than 30 percent on medical care from provider networks it has cobbled together around the United States and internationally.
“Dr. Laffer’s robust background and expertise introduces a new level of competence to this burgeoning industry, and BridgeHealth takes pride in welcoming this accomplished individual,” said Victor Lazzaro Jr., CEO of BridgeHealth.
Laffer was a member of President Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board for much of the 1980s. He also advised British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on fiscal policy during that decade.
