Mapco Express has hired four senior executives to help it flesh out its marketing strategies and boost private-label sales.
The Brentwood-based company’s new hires are:
• Chief Marketing Officer Bill Reilly, a former vice president of sales and marketing at Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain Sheetz Inc. Reilly also has had stints at Walt Disney and Marriott.
• Tony Miller, VP of sales and merchandising, who comes to Mapco from Louisville-based Thorntons Inc. There, he was most recently senior VP of sales and marketing.
• Russ Shrewsberry, who is filling the new position of director of private label. Most recently, Shrewsberry was with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. as U.S. director.
• Blake Miller, who also has taken up a newly created post, VP of human resources. He comes to the company from local shop The HR Group.
Mapco President Igal Zamir – himself still newish at his job – said his new lieutenants will help implement "a series of strategic growth initiatives designed to improve our brand positioning, grow our market share and increase our overall profitability… Bill, Tony, Blake and Russ each bring a unique set of qualifications, skills and experiences which will be instrumental in helping us effectively implement our plan.”
Mapco, a unit of Delek US, runs almost 500 gasoline and convenience stores under a number of brands in eight states.
