A tenant in Highwoods Plaza One in Maryland Farms has resigned and added space. Cogent Healthcare will continue to inhabit the 19,223-square-foot space it leased before as well as add 7,561 square feet.

The company signed a five-year lease. With the additional space, the firm will take up the entire third floor of the building. Southeast Venture has been contracted to design the interior of the firm's new space. Construction is scheduled to wrap up this quarter.

Cogent, which specializes in designing and managing hospitalist programs, has had its headquarters in the building since June of 2007. It was based in Burton Hills before that.

“Our success has maximized our footprint and we are in the process of expanding our corporate office,” Gene Fleming, president and CEO of Cogent, said in a release.
