
Brim Healthcare’s president and CEO Dave Woodland will be retiring near the end of this year, it was announced this morning.
According to the announcement, Woodland, who has spent the last 21 years with rural hospital manager Brim, will step down on or before Dec. 21. He's headed up the company since 1999.
Assuming the helm of the Brentwood-based company will be Phil Mazzuca. Most recently, Mazzuca worked with Charlotte, N.C.-based cardiology provider MedCath Corp., where he has served as chief operating officer since 2006.
He has also spent time during his career with local hospital operator Iasis, serving for a time as a division president.
Brim manages more than 30 hospitals around the country. From 1996 to 2004, the company was part of Province Healthcare.
