The Metro Development and Housing Agency said its top goal remains a compromise with Joy Ford on the eminent domain claim facing her Music Row property.

MDHA released a statement Thursday saying it had revised its court pleadings to match its recent compromise offer. Under that offer, Ford would be able to keep her Country Music International property on Music Circle.

Previously, MDHA had labeled the building blighted and issued an eminent-domain claim. The compromise calls for Ford to cede a portion of her property, which would be used for parking for the pending $70 million office tower development by Houston-based Lionstone Group.

MDHA issued its compromise offer three weeks ago, but still has not had a response from Ford’s attorneys, the agency said.

“We would really like to work this matter out,” MDHA Director Phil Ryan said. “We believe this compromise would do that, and we believe in the offer so much, we are willing to amend our court pleadings to incorporate it.”

A court meeting previously scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed. MDHA intends to refile its request for a judgment. For the agency's press release, click here.
