One percent of Inc. 5000 based in Middle Tennessee

Inc. magazine has named 50 Nashville-area companies among the 5000 fastest-growing companies in the country.

Government service firm Legacy Resource Corp. out of Brentwood was ranked 57 on the list and sixth in its industry, posting growth of 2,750 percent since 2004.

Franklin-based ProfitPoint also made the top 100 at number 59, posting a three-year growth rate of 2,642 percent. The company, which markets stored gift and loyalty card programs, ranked seventh in the business services sector.

Gallatin-based SRS Inc. was ranked 250 on the list and ninth in its industry. The construction company grew by 1,052 percent, driven in part by its recent qualification as a federal contractor for Hurricane Katrina recovery work. The company is also one of the four contractors hired to build the $600 million Music City Center.

E-mail marketing company Emma, Vaco, a Brentwood human resources firm, and Malcap Mortgage, a financial services firm also in Brentwood, made the list at 312, 320, and 430, respectively. Five other area companies also ranked in the top 1,000.
