$225B player taps Carolina exec to guide Nashville plans

Lincoln Financial Advisors has named the executive overseeing its North and South Carolina operations to spearhead a Nashville expansion push.

Brett Collins will recruit and manage financial planners for Lincoln Financial Advisors, which runs about 300 offices around the country, including one in Loews Vanderbilt Plaza on West End that employs 12 fee-based planners. A company spokesman said plans call for Collins to add between eight and 12 planners in the next three years.

"Brett has successfully grown the Lincoln Financial footprint in North Carolina and South Carolina, and I have no doubt he will do the same in Nashville," said David Berkowitz, senior VP and head of Lincoln Financial Advisors.

Lincoln Financial Advisors is a division of Philadelphia-based Lincoln National Corp. (Ticker: LNC), which has about $225 billion of assets under management.
