Spring Hill attorney Dave Talley of the United Auto Workers Legal Services Plan filed suit today on behalf of his client Blanca D. Narcio against the former Brentwood financial advisor Michael J. Park. The case was filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Park was a known as a high-rolling financial advisor who lived and worked in the Brentwood area until his house of cards came falling down just before the Fourth of July weekend. That week, he declared bankruptcy and notified his clients that their investments with him were of "no liquid value."
Since then, his lifestyle has come under intense scrutiny amid allegations of fraud. He is known to be under investigation by law enforcement officials and was admitted to an area hospital last week after a failed suicide attempt.
In the suit filed today, Narcio alleges that Park was given close to $40,000 to invest in either a Sears Bond or some other type of Sears paper. According to the suit, Park never bothered to invest and kept the money.
