Passport Health Communications has acquired an Illinois-based revenue cycle management company that expands its offerings and grows its employee base by half.

The deal for Nebo Systems brings Franklin-based Passport about 2,500 clients and 100 employees. Nebo, which was founded in 1989, specializes in, among other things, claims management and scripting services. Passport Chairman and CEO Jim Lackey said the combination will deliver to clients "a broader and deeper scope of services."

Brentwood Capital Advisors advised Passport on the deal, which Goldman Sachs Specialty Lending Group financed.

Passport, which was founded in 1996, employs almost 200 people and works with about 4,300 providers around the country.
