
Meeting in Jackson today, the Judicial Selection Commission has decided on the names from which Gov. Phil Bredesen will choose the replacement for Judge Frank Crawford at the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Western Grand Division.
Crawford died last month of lung cancer at the age of 81. The three attorneys in line to succeed him are:
William H. Haltom, Jr.
Partner at Thomason, Hendrix, Harvey, Johnson & Mitchell
Memphis
Todd A. Rose
Attorney at Burch, Porter & Johnson
Puryear
James Steven Stafford
Chancellor, 29th Judicial District
Dyersburg
Others who had thrown their hat in the ring for the seat were Sean Hunt of Spicer, Flynn & Rudstrom in Germantown; Nathan Pride of Jackson; and William Richards of the Memphis office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz.
Early this year, Bredesen picked Richard Dinkins to fill the Middle Section appeals court opening that was created by the death last December of Judge William Bryan Cain.
