Michelle Obama, wife of Illinois Senator and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, will be in Nashville Thursday for a campaign fundraiser at the home of Cyndee and Jerry Martin. Jerry is a partner in the law firm of Barrett, Johnston & Parsley.
While Michelle will be here to raise money for her husband's campaign, her husband has yet to make a big splash in the area. The last time he appeared at any event of note in Middle Tennessee was almost two years ago for a rally for the then Democratic senatorial candidate Harold Ford, Jr.
Arizona Senator and Republican presidential nominee John McCain last was in Nashville for a campaign stop just prior to Tennessee's presidential primary earlier this year. His event was held at Montgomery Bell Academy.
