Local venture group Clayton Associates announced two newly closed investments this afternoon.
First was a $1.5 million investment with Birmingham-based revenue cycle management outfit Proxsys. The four-year-old company has already found legs in its hometown, signing up a number of well-known local operators including Brookwood Medical Center and St. Vincent's Health System.
Clayton Associates also invested recently in Jackson, Miss.-based Continuum 700. The company, which was launched former executives of telecom heavyweights Tritel and T-Mobile, recently was the successful bidder on 700 MHz spectrum A Block licenses. (If, like us, you aren’t sure exactly what that means, click here.) The amount of that investment was not disclosed.
