Burton Hills-based surgery center developer Healthmark has purchased Atlanta’s Alliance Surgery Inc.
HealthMark, formerly known as Women’s Health Partners, was launched and financed by former Surgical Care Affiliates executive Woody Miller. The company lists 11 facilities in four states on its Web site with two more marked as “in development.” All told, the combined entity will have 17 surgery centers with six under development spread across 10 states.
As part of the deal, ASI CEO Charles T. Neal, who worked with Symbion until 2006 and helped found that company's predecessor ARC in 1996, will be brought in to serve as COO of the combined entity. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
