Nashville Mayor Karl Dean has revealed his choice for president but says he isn't planning on getting on the stump for any campaigns and will concentrate on the business of Nashville. The mayor is an Obama man.
On this morning's broadcast of Liberadio!, the political talk show aired on WRVU, Dean was asked by hosts Mary Mancini and Freddie O'Connell about the ongoing Democratic presidential battle. While discussing the whole "superdelegate" issue he dropped the news that he had voted for Illinois Senator Barack Obama in Tennessee's primary.
While Dean will not be a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, his presidential preference is of, at least, local interest. Let's face it, we're all a little curious as to who voted for whom.
Dean also cited new initiatives in dealing with truancy in schools among his more pressing issues and would be focusing on that as opposed to getting immersed in presidential politics.
Editor's note: Freddie O'Connell, host of Liberadio!, is also employed by SouthComm Inc., NashvillePost.com's parent company.
