Franklin-based Dialogic Communications Corp., the local firm that was sold by founder Gene Kirby in 2006, announced today the appointment of Scott Alfieri as president.
Alfieri was previously the division's vice president and general manager, having joined the company seven years ago in a senior business-development role.
Tim Fuller, president and CEO of parent PlantCML, made today's announcement. PlantCML is based in Temecula, Calif., and has a regional headquarters in Indianapolis.
Kirby had outlined in a 2006 interview with NashvillePost.com his plan to take the company public, but five months later announced DCC's sale to PlantCML. At the time, the privately held company had about 110 investors. Golden Gate Capital funded PlantCML's purchase.
Kirby's search for a buyer was prompted partly by the fact that he believed continued growth through acquisitions would require a warchest of perhaps $25 million. Kirby retired after PlantCML's purchase and is now associated with NMG Advisers, Inc.
