Nashville-based ADS Security has moved into the Atlanta market with the acquisition of SecurNet Protective Services Inc.

In a release, ADS said SecurNet, which was founded 10 years ago, is one of the top three security companies in Atlanta. The acquisition brings more than 4,500 accounts to ADS and fills out the company's presence in Georgia, which until now has been concentrated in the Savannah and Augusta areas. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nineteen-year-old ADS has 65,000 accounts and offices in five Southeastern states. Under Chairman and CEO Mel Mahler, the company has pursued an acquisition strategy to grow into one of the largest of its kind in the country.
