Gaylord Entertainment this morning announced that CFO David Kloeppel has been named president of the company.

While retaining his financial tasks, Kloeppel, 39, also will now oversee  Gaylord's marketing, media and entertainment efforts. Before joining the company in 2001, he was a vice president in the mergers and acquisitions unit of Deutsche Bank in New York.

"Over the last seven years, I have observed Dave’s talents and witnessed his growth into becoming a very effective leader and I concluded it was time for the company to reward him with more responsibility," said Chairman and CEO Colin Reed, who is relinquishing the president's title. "Dave’s wealth of financial experience as well as his knowledge of operational excellence will serve our company well."

In addition to the Kloeppel news, Gaylord (Ticker: GET) also has promoted three other senior managers:

  • Senior VP and Chief Information Officer Rich Maradik also has been named chief marketing officer. He will oversee the company's work with its upgraded customer relationship management systems.
  • Gara Pryor, now VP of compensation, benefits and human resources information systems, will take on the role of senior VP of human resources.
  • Carter Todd, formerly senior VP and general counsel, has been named executive VP. He will keep his general counsel responsibilities.
