Insurer HealthSpring announced this afternoon that CFO Kevin McNamara plans to retire effective in May of next year.
McNamara joined the company in April of 2005. Previously in his career, he spent time with ProxyMed and healthcare management and recruitment outfit HCCA International and was chief executive officer and a director of Private Business, which changed its name to Goldleaf Financial in May of 2006.
From now until May, McNamara will “help manage the process for selecting his successor.”
Shares of HealthSpring (Ticker: HS) ended the day down almost 10 percent at $13.57, although they're up more than 4 percent after hours. Year to date, they're down about 28 percent.
