Downtown law firm Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner has petitioned a bankruptcy judge to be paid almost $270,000 for work it has done representing SouthEast Waffles.

H3GM was brought on board in late August by SouthEast, which runs more than 100 Waffle House stores. The franchisee is now working its way through a convoluted Chapter 11 process punctuated by accusations of mismanagement and disputes over the compensation of chief manager Jim Shaub.

In its petition – available at this link – H3GM attorneys details the scope of their work for SouthEast, showing that the team led by Glenn Rose and Barbara Holmes worked almost 860 hours on the case from during the 10 weeks that ended Oct. 31.

Case administration work – work ranging from daily financial reports and working with Chief Restructuring Officer Gary Murphey to answering the deluge of questions from creditors – accounts for the bulk of the bill.
