
Doster Construction Co. Inc. has started work on Bristol Development’s 1700 Midtown apartment complex. The contractor has pulled a permit worth $17.6 million for the project at 17th Avenue North and State Street.
Robert S. Biscan & Co. is working on two Metro Schools jobs. The contractor will build an 18,800-square-foot classroom addition and add about 500 square feet to the dining room at Paragon Mills Elementary. It also is working on a 23,000-square-foot addition to Harpeth Valley Elementary. Both projects are valued at $3.1 million.
Metro Schools is a friend of Bomar Construction Co. Inc., too. Bomar will renovate and add a two-floor classroom to Apollo Middle School in a $3.3 million project. Bomar also will build a 7,300-square-foot addition to the gym at Kirkpatrick Elementary in East Nashville. That work is worth about $980,000.
Choice Inc. will build a three-story Security Central storage facility on Old Hickory Boulevard near Highway 70 in Bellevue. The value of the 37,470-square-foot project is almost $2.8 million.
Benning Construction Co. is finishing out the shell of the future Harris-Teeter grocery store that will be part of the Belle Meade Town Center. The firm’s permit is valued at $2.4 million.
Supply chain player ModusLink will move into its second local office after Commercial Industrial Construction Inc. completes a renovation of space in La Vergne’s ProLogis Park. CIC’s work on Corporate Place is worth $650,000. ModusLink opened a Smyrna operation in 1999.
More work on Vanderbilt’s Medical Center Drive: The Vanderbilt Clinic’s Swallowing Center space on the first floor of VUMC’s is being rehabbed by Orion Building Corp. The 2,263-square-foot project is worth $650,000.
PBG Builders Inc. will renovate Meharry Medical College’s primary care unit. Work on the first-floor clinic is valued at $510,000.
The West Side House of God Church is growing with a 2,400-square-foot multipurpose room addition. Hardin & Barga Construction Inc. has pulled a permit worth $407,000 permit for the project.
