
Work is moving forward on the second Nashville location for Hotel Indigo. R.C. Mathews Contractor has pulled a permit covering $7.5 million of interior renovations at the former American Trust building at Third and Union downtown. That building and the adjacent Nashville Trust building at 315 Union are scheduled open as Hotel Indigo next summer.
Another week, another good-sized Vanderbilt permit: Wieck Construction LLC will renovate 38,000 square feet of the special collections area of the university’s library. The job is worth $1.5 million.
Hawkins Development Co. has pulled a permit on behalf of Omnicare to renovate some offices at 1654 Elm Hill Pike. The work is worth almost $540,000.
The Willis building in Century City is getting a new 182-spot parking lot. Civil Constructors Inc. will handle the job, which is valued at $500,000.
Modern Construction Corp. is rehabbing some ground-floor office space at the Stahlman downtown for architects Susman Tisdale Gayle, which last month signed a seven-year lease for about 5,100 square feet in the historic building. The rehab work is valued at $225,000.
Morel Construction Co. Inc. will build a 3,000-square-foot office/warehouse space for Electricare on Pittway Drive in North Nashville. The job is worth about $222,000.
Downtown’s CMT Building is getting a new roof. Superior Commercial Roofing Co. will handle the $176,000 job. Two area Krogers are getting similar treatments. Superior Commercial is handling the work at the chain’s Antioch store on Mt. View Road, while the store at Eighth and Monroe in Germantown is getting a new roof courtesy of Nu-Tec Roofing Contractors Inc. Both jobs are worth about $175,000.
