01-22-2008 12:36 PM

Local disease manager Healthways is among the top 100 places to work, according to Fortune.

The only Middle Tennessee company on the list, Healthways came in at No. 80. The disease manager received kudos for looking out for the health of its employees. Fortune was especially impressed with plans for walking trails and bikes for rent at the company’s new Cool Springs headquarters.

The only other company in the state to make the list was Memphis’ FedEx, which ranked 95th.

The list, released today, was topped again by Google, which was praised for its soaring stock and the granting of stock options to nearly all of its employees. Rounding out the top three were Quicken Loans and Wegmans Food Markets.
