Briefly: Baker attorney throws hat into Chancery ring

First to file papers for Dinkins opening

Matthew Sweeney, an attorney at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, today became the first name on the list of applicants to fill the Davidson County Chancery Court seat being vacated by Richard Dinkins.

Sweeney, a litigator and dispute resolution neutral, is a member of Baker Donelson's Nashville office. He is a former Circuit Court Judge in Nashville and was presiding judge of the district's trial courts. He is one of a number of locals expected to submit their name for the opening.
