John Branham and John Day quietly parted ways in January, 14 years after founding the civil-ligitation firm Branham & Day PC in Brentwood.
Branham, 65, is now practicing on his own from his home, although he told NashvillePost.com yesterday he is considering joining a local firm in of-counsel status. His explanation for ending his relationship with Day: "Just time for a change."
Prior to founding Branham & Day in 1993, the duo had been partners at Howell, Fisher & Branham and Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry, respectively.
Branham earned his J.D. at Tulane University in 1968, after earning a bachelor's at Middle Tennessee State University in 1966. Day earned his J.D. at the University of North Carolina in 1981.
Day did not reply to a NashvillePost.com query placed yesterday after his new name partner, Rebecca Blair, deferred to him for comments on the changes.
Prior to joining what is now Day & Blair, Blair served with both Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry and Ortale, Kelley, Herbert & Crawford. She earned her undergraduate and J.D. degrees at the University of Tennessee.
