LifePoint Hospitals has tapped David Dill as its new chief financial officer, replacing Mike Culotta, who abruptly resigned last month.

Dill, 38, will take over on August 1, 2007. Between now and then, he will collaborate with management at Brentwood-based LifePoint to ensure a smooth transition.

Dill has spent the past year as executive vice president of Fresenius Medical Care North America and as chief executive officer of the east division of Fresenius, roles he assumed after Fresenius purchased Nashville's Renal Care Group in 2006. Dill had been CFO at Renal since 2003 after joining the company in the mid-1990s. Earlier in his career, he was a certified public accountant with Deloitte & Touche.

Dill serves on the board of directors at Psychiatric Solutions Inc.
