Link: News 2 general manager resigns

Mike Sechrist, long-serving general manager of NashvillePost.com's television partner WKRN-News 2, has announced his resignation, effective Friday.

Sechrist came to News 2 as manager of news and operations May 1995, moving up to the post of GM in June 1996. In May 2003, he took on the additional title of regional vice president with Young Broadcasting Inc., the New York City-based parent of WKRN.

Earlier in his career he had been vice president for news at KDFW-TV in Dallas, as well as news director at WPLG-TV in Miami, WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh and WTNH-TV in New Haven, Conn.

Sorry to Mike Sechrist go....his involving the internet and blogging in the news of the day was innovative and is where the news seems to break now days. Mike understood the active participation in breaking news that the internet plays..way ahead of his competition. Best wishes.
