Randy Button, former chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party, has opened a lobbying and government relations firm, the Capitol Strategy Group, with Nashville attorney Kim Glassman.
In addition to serving as chair of the state Democratic party, Button was a candidate for U.S. Congress in 1994, narrowly edged out by Congressman Zach Wamp (R-Chattanooga). He has long been active in Tennessee politics, working on the campaigns of Gov. Phil Bredesen, former Vice President Al Gore, and former Gov. Ned McWherter.
Glassman, a graduate of the Nashville School of Law and Middle Tennessee State University, previously served as national fundraising coordinator for the 2000 Gore/Lieberman campaign, as well as holding positions with the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
