Whew. There went another year.

Your personal staff of humble and quirky scribes at NashvillePost.com spent 2006 chasing one tasty gazelle of a story after another across the fecund savannah of Middle Tennessee's business and political landscape. Take our word for it, folks: Reporting the news in Nashville has not always been such a hectic affair, and in years gone by we have lived through months and months that were like the past week or so — utterly devoid of activity worth covering. For just about all of 2006, however, the joint was jumpin'.

The list of our most-read stories for the year, as ranked by pageviews, reflects the target-rich environment in which we operated last year. It is somewhat skewed, though, by the fact that our readership grew dramatically over the course of 2006, so that some of our most popular stories from early in the year don't make the cut.
