Joyce Rothenberg, a former corporate marketing executive and consultant, has been named director of the Career Management Center of Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management.

Rothenberg assumes CMC duties from former Associate Dean Melinda Allen, who is now executive director for Owen's leadership-development programs for students. Allen's previous admissions duties are now assigned to John Roeder, who has been promoted to director of admissions, from associate director.

Prior to joining Owen, Rothenberg provided product-development, customer-satisfaction and related research services, doing business here in the past decade as Rothenberg Consulting Group. Owen was among her recent clients. Her earlier career included senior marketing and strategic business planning posts with Luby's Cafeterias Inc. and Marriott Corp.

She earned her MBA at Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia in 1985. Her bachelor's degree is from Grove City College in Pennsylvania.
