New chief info officer takes over at O'Charley's

09-07-2006 9:09 AM

Nashville's O'Charley's Inc. today announced appointment of Leon De Wet as chief information officer, reporting to CFO Larry Hyatt. De Wet will succeed retiring CIO Jim Gray at the restaurant company on Sept. 25.

De Wet, 44, was previously vice president for business intelligence and strategic systems at Dallas-based Brinker International, a restaurant chain whose brands include Chili's Bar and Grill and Maggiano's Little Italy.

The change in executive ranks is one of several at O'Charley's in the past year as the company has sought to turn around its financial performance under shareholder pressure. CHUX brought in outsiders to fill supply chain, legal and PR positions in May, and it tapped former Carlson exec Jeff Warne as president of its flagship O'Charley's chain in February after his predecessor and the company's chief strategy officer both departed at the end of 2005.

In addition to the O'Charley's concept, the company also owns the Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub and Stoney River Legendary Steaks chains.
