Tennessee Attorney General Paul Summers, who is scheduled to leave office at the end of this month, is joining the Nashville law firm of Waller, Lansden, Dortch & Davis, effective October 2. Summers has been AG since 1999.
Before his service as Attorney General, he served more than eight years as a Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals. Prior to the bench, he was elected District Attorney General for the 25th judicial district in West Tennessee. While he was a DA for nearly nine years, he was elected President of the TN District Attorneys General Conference. Prior to public service to Tennessee, General Summers had a private law practice in his hometown of Somerville.
This is the second major catch for Waller Lansden in the past few months. In August, the firm acquired the services of prominent product liability attorney J. Randolph Bibb.
