12-14-2006 3:19 PM — After nearly four years away from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Debby Dale Mason is rejoining the management ranks as chief community action officer.
Her duties will include some of the government affairs responsibilities that had been covered by David Ewing, who resigned shortly after Ralph Schulz took over as president and chief executive officer. She will have a broader role but that hasn't been defined yet.
Mason had been with the chamber from 1991 to 2002, leaving shortly after Mike Neal had been named president and chief executive officer. Neal left for Tulsa chamber this summer, and Schulz took the helm in November.
Although she left the chamber, her involvement with it didn't end. Mason, highly respected in the business community, started her own consulting firm and continued to organize the chamber's annual InterCity Leadership Visit. Mason also worked with the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau, joining the organization as a senior vice president last year.
