The role of state director for U.S. Senators is to oversee the day-to-day operations of state offices Corker will have. Corker has announced that he will have six, located in Memphis, Jackson, Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville and the Tri-Cities.
Womack formerly served as spokesperson for Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga and director of public relations for insurer UnumProvident Corp. He later joined then-Chattanooga Mayor Bob Corker as his communications director.
During the Senate campaign, Womack held the post of political director and then became the campaign's communications director. This past November, Corker tapped Womack to lead his transition and begin setting up both his Washington and Tennessee Senate offices.
