11-30-2006 7:54 PM — Nashville is getting a new corporate headquarters that employs 30 people. It's a company that has already had an office here for some months.
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to announce tomorrow at 10 am that ZOI Interactive Technologies, an interactive gaming and advertising company, will make Nashville its headquarters. The company previously was based in Las Vegas. In the summer, ZoiTec, as it is known, leased 3,500 square feet in Cummins Station and reserved another 12,500 square feet for future growth. The office had moved from Brentwood.
At the time, it was hiring graphic designers and .Net developers for the office as well as a director of public relations. This summer it already had 25 full-time employees here, including Safa Ryan Homayoon, the company's chief operating officer.
The company develops interactive gaming websites. One such site set that was to be introduced this fall is Wall Street God, an online skill game that tracks with the real stock market. Its interactive advertising that allows companies to target customers directly over the Internet.
In June, ZoiTec announced that it had raised $2.25 million in new investment. In April, the company had entered into an agreement to purchase Lebanon-based Tournament Games Inc. that is still in the works. Tournament Games runs Internet tournaments where players play for free or cash prizes.
That same month, ZoiTec entered into an agreement to be acquired by CET Services, based in Centennial, Colo., in a reverse merger -- a maneuver that can be an easier way for a private company to go public. CET is a property development company that focuses on redevelopment of real estate that requires environmental remediation. Its stock trades on average about 19,000 shares a day and closed today at 50 cents. The agreement expired Nov. 4. But CET said in its Nov. 14 third quarter report that discussions were continuing.
